What's Hot
27 November 2011
Photos from the hunt assessment have been posted on our face book page. Despite warm temperatures all of the Drents did well, in particular we had several Drents “new” to hunting who came out and made some very nice points for the assembled crowd. Naturally some of the older and more experienced dogs did especially well.
We had a very productive Board Meeting following the hunt test, the minutes of which will be soon published in the winter edition newsletter for your review.
Of course it’s hunting season and so web page updates have become a bit less than a high priority… I hope you all can understand.
Until next time – Happy Hunting & Happy Holidays to you and your families!

CONGRATULATIONS goes out to Jared, Jenna & Jager "Fowler" Myers. Fowler has earned the First AKC Junior Hunter Title for a North American Drent! Well done!
THE FINAL DATE is Saturday October 15th!! The event is open strictly for current members, however everyone is welcome to observe and enjoy the dogs and the good company.
The DPCNA intends to hold it first ever Hunt Assessment near Idaho Falls, Idaho. All members are welcome to attend and are encouraged to participate!
For young pups/dogs, or dogs not accustomed to gun fire, we’ll see how they do with retrieving and water retrieves using a bumper and/or frozen bird and they can try their hand with the junior dogs that are known to not be fully steady on the “pigeon pole” with a live bird. For those that want, we’ll have birds available for your dog to show off his locating and pointing prowess at the preserve. All activities will be done on a non-competitive basis.
We will need to spread the cost of the birds across those planning to hunt/shoot birds at the game preserve, so please contact John Lambregts (208-552-9675) as soon as possible if you plan to attend, so we can either secure more birds if needed and/or try and make a deal with a local hotel if the number of participants require this assistance.
We’ll wedge our 2011 Annual Meeting in there somehow and afterwards there is a strong possibility a few folks will feel obligated to chase after some wild birds – since that seems to happen when we all get together. The coincidence this time is: huns, chukars, blue, ruffed, sharptail and sage grouse, quail happen to be in season...
Hope to see you there!

8 Febuary 2011
The 2010 Annual Meeting was successfully held on 15 January 2011 in Patagonia Arizona. We were able to cover all of the items on the proposed agenda and a few additional items. As a whole we’ve managed to accomplish quite a bit, but as with many things hard work is rewarded with more hard work. Meaning there is now more to do because of the successes we have managed to generate. We’ll go into more detail in the 2011 spring newsletter. Until then we would like to take a moment to thank our membership for your continued support, the Ameri-Can Stabyhon Club for reaching out to us for a wonderful partnering opportunity. 2011 promises to be another full year for the DPCNA! |
