All breeding approvals are valid for 6 months or until the most current eye exam result expires, whichever is sooner.  If the cover is postponed, if no pregnancy occurs, or if the breeder wishes to advertise in advance of 6 months, then the application can be extended for an additional 6 months. This must be requested by contacting Brian O'Connor - dpcna.gundogs@gmail.com. There is no fee for this extension. If a different male is chosen, then a new application is required along with associated fee.

When the application is extended, it is important that you, the breeder, be aware of the period of validity of the eye examination for both the dam and sire. If necessary, it must be repeated to remain current (CAER exams valid for 12 months). At the time of the breeding there must be a valid eye examination for both dogs, otherwise the consent for breeding will be withdrawn.
